In collaboration with Comex (PPG), Estudio Cristina Grappin remodeled a typical Mexican home, preserving its character while introducing a contemporary color palette featuring rust, plum, and beige hues. Situated among the house’s original furniture and artisanal artifacts are new design items from Mexico’s top local talent: a volcanic rock side table, woven papercord dining chairs, and straw mandala-like wall hangings. A deeply intimate project, Casa Nina represents a meeting of two generations and two sensibilities. The project understands the importance of both cherishing personal objects and displaying them within a design-forward curation. The process of creating this space was captured in a makeover-style video, showing how the home transformed without losing its essential nature.
