Casa La Reina embeds itself in a rocky seaside landscape as if a series of caves that merge into the terrain. Harmonization with nature is primordial to this project, surrounded by the impressive cliffs, tides, and constellation-filled skies of Baja California’s Western coast. The interiors of the home welcome the outside in: an undulating, water-like, wooden pergola over a deep blue infinity pool and wide-spanning views that blend the house’s horizons into the natural ones. Another focal point, Casa La Reina’s reading room, has a sunken sitting area that puts users at eye level with the ground, achieving the optical illusion of windows that rest on the surface of the ocean.
